Black Sheep

The world's asleep, you're up all night
You go left when they say turn right
That little nagging voice it seems
Not loud enough to drown out your big dreams
When the box is too small, rise above it all

Black sheep
Jumping the fence
Don't need to count somebody's two cents
Stand up
Just be yourself,
You're better at that than anyone else
High heels, tennis shoes, moccasins or cowboy boots
As long as it feels good to you

The blue prints in your mind are set
Even if you think you're not ready yet
You're ducks are all in a row
If you don't pull the trigger, you'll never know
Rules are made to break, don't be afraid…to be a

Black sheep
Jumping the fence
Don't need to count somebody's two cents
Stand up
Just be yourself,
You're better at that than anyone else
High heels, tennis shoes, moccasins or cowboy boots
As long as it feels good to you

Turn the TV off
Don’t you know it stops
you from seeing your own light
It can’t be wrong when it feels right
So be a Black Sheep

Handrail

Heading home, standing on the train
100 people trying to do the same
Just the same old every single day
All these feet and all these faces
On their way to different places

There’s a guy buried under all his tattoos
A man looking restless in a pin-striped suit
And a girl who keeps checking out her Italian shoes
It’s the same train that we’re all taking
And everyone’s got a destination

Everybody comes, everybody goes
Doors open right before they close
We don’t ever talk, even say hello
And there’s not anyone I know, but we’re holding the same handrail

Hey I’m standing right next to you
Where you from, what do you do
What you reading, where you heading to?
We may not have a conversation
Just stand real close till the next station - ‘cause

Everybody comes, everybody goes
Doors open right before they close
We don’t ever talk, even say hello
And there’s not anyone I know, but we’re holding the same handrail

Holding on, as we speed along
Holding on, together, together
Holding on, as we speed along
Together, together

Everybody comes, everybody goes
Doors open right before they close
We don’t ever talk, even say hello
And there’s not anyone I-know, but
Everybody comes, everybody goes
Doors open right before they close
We don’t ever talk, even say hello
And there’s not anyone I know, but we’re holding, but we’re holding the same handrail x 3

Right Here Beside You

This is where it all begins
I’m so glad you reeled me in
It’s the day every girl dreams of
In a sea of smiling faces
Not one could ever replace you
I feel so happy I could cry

There’s no one else
I need you to survive
Look in my face
You’re the reason I’m alive

Here we go, this I know
I’ll be right here beside you
When you can no longer stand
I’ll be right here beside you
I promise in the darkness
I’ll be right here beside you
Toe to toe, this I know
I’ll be right here beside you

So many years I stumbled through
Looking for exactly you
There is no doubt about it
Since the moment I saw your face
I knew we would have this day
That turns into forever

There’s no one else
I need you to survive
Look in my face
You’re the reason I’m alive

Here we go, this I know
I’ll be right here beside you
When you can no longer stand,
I’ll be right here beside you
I promise in the darkness
I’ll be right here beside you
Toe to toe, this I know
I’ll be right here beside you

If I only know one thing
It’s that I’ll always wear this ring
Cause you’re my everything

Here we go, this I know
I’ll be right here beside you
When you can no longer stand,
I’ll be right here beside you
I promise in the darkness
I’ll be right here beside you
Toe to toe, this I know
I’ll be right here beside you
I’ll be right here beside you
I’ll be right here beside you

Something Like I'm Beautiful

Something Like I’m Beautiful

Charred burnt toast fills the room
Can’t see past my own gloom
Crows feet walking all over my face
My mirror hates me today
Blue jeans feeling too tight
Lifeless hair can’t get it right
Feels like no one has called me in a year
Only thing I need to hear

If I ask you will you tell me
Something like I‘m beautiful
I have wanted you to tell me
And I promise I’ll believe you
That I‘m not a dime in a dozen
That everything about me is worth loving
Tell me something like I‘m beautiful

Deep scars are on display
Feel like a duck when I walk away
Reaching for a better place
Only frowns in this head space
It’s getting harder to believe
That there might be nothing wrong with me
When you‘re feeling ocean blue
There‘s nothing else left to do

But to ask you will you tell me
Something like I‘m beautiful
I have wanted you to tell me
And I promise I’ll believe you
That I‘m not a dime in a dozen
That everything about me is worth loving
Tell me something like I‘m beautiful

I‘ve found myself on the cold hard ground
Awake in a dream and I can’t get out
The hardest thing to grasp is a helping hand
Only I can let myself feel this bad

If I ask you will you tell me
Something like I‘m beautiful
I have wanted you to tell me
And I promise I’ll believe you
That I‘m not a dime in a dozen
That everything about me is worth loving
Tell me something like I‘m beautiful
Tell me something like I‘m beautiful
Tell me something like I‘m beautiful

U Turn

You can see your history in the rear view mirror
reflecting back so crystal clear
the things you’ve done and the things you wished you did
You’re driving like a passenger
The scenery is all a blur
It brings you back to when you were a kid

All the signs you missed, and exits passing by

You can run away, or change your mind
Its okay to cross that line
You can make a U Turn U Turn
You can make a U Turn U Turn
You can make a U Turn U Turn
You can make a U Turn U Turn

You were always living life for someone else
Left your dusty dreams on a forgotten shelf
Your good intentions only let you down
Fast forward to the present day
You look for someone else to blame
You wanna get off this road but don’t know how

The world keeps turning babe, whatever you decide

You can run away, or change your mind
Its okay to cross that line
You can make a U Turn U Turn
You can make a U Turn U Turn
You can make a U Turn U Turn
You can make a U Turn U Turn

There is no perfect timing
There’s only hope and trying
So if you think you left a part of you behind

Don’t get down, spin yourself around
When the road is open you get to where you’re going

You can run away, or change your mind
Its okay to cross that line
Don’t get down, spin yourself around
When the road is open you get to where you’re going
Don’t get stuck, baby pick it up
with everything that you learn, with all the rubber you burn
You can make a U Turn U Turn
You can make a U Turn U Turn
You can make a U Turn U Turn
You can make a U Turn U Turn
You can cross that line yeah you cross that line

Biography:

Prairie-raised, Toronto-based folk Americana artist Angela Saini is all about second chances and empowering others. Her ability to combine humanistic and honest themes laden with catchy hooks and memorable melodies make her entertaining as well as relatable. With three European and five Canadian tours under her belt, Angela is a 2017 Toronto Independent Music Award Winner and BlogTO named her in their “Top 5 Folk Acts to Watch.” The songstress most known for her sunshine-soaked song “Living on the Bright Side” explores the shades between dark and light on her new album “Hope on the Stereo.” The precarious balance between optimism and fear is a major theme, but hope always tips the balance.
