Biography:
Like most parents that put their dreams on hold to raise a family Angie Ricci aka Amomnus pronounced "a mom n us" has finally acknowledge that at age 50 it’s time to invest in her craft by joining Songwriters Association of Canada.
She began her collection of songs by writing for friends and family in her early teens. Her favourite pastime was jamming with local musicians including her own brother Chris Ricci who to date still plays in five different tribute bands across Ontario. Between starting up her own business Angel Tours & Entertainment Inc. (a Motorcoach company) and raising her two kids (adults now) she has spent the last 20 years enjoying motherhood which is her true calling. Now an Empty-Nesta Ricci is pursuing her dreams of being a songwriter. She laughs “I don’t have the chops to give up my day job so my daughter Sarah Melody does the vox on some of my demos. We're quite the close family unit, even my son dabbles in comedic parodies
Living her dream through her own daughter Sarah Melody (Pop/Rock artist), Ricci has supported Melody’s journey over the last 8 years with her own music and has co-written on some of her daughter’s singles including “Yearbook”.
Already an entrepreneur in the transportation sector she branched out into the music industry by opening her own recording studio Dreambay Studios in Barrie Ontario to help her creative outlook and to assist young bands in the community. Like most lyricists, song ideas surface daily “A lot of my concepts come to me in my sleep or when I’m behind the wheel. My phone is full of songs waiting to be finished. Sometimes I even have the instrumental sections in my head but don't really play an instrument so I rely on the interpretation of the producers who bring it to life. There 's nothing like hearing the finished product .
Ricci says “It’s never too late to do what you love, this time, part time, sometime, anytime,
