Goodbye My Friend

Goodbye My Friend

I said goodbye to a friend today
I feel you’ve left before your time
and now you’re gone, but not forgotten
I’ll keep you always in my mind

I’ve seen so many days and cried so many tears
with you by my side
I know there’ll come a day when I look down at my feet
and see your footprints next to mine
until then.....goodbye my friend

Every time time that I close my eyes
I can see you’re smiling face
Its like a dream, these memories
Even time cannot erase

I’ve seen so many days and cried so many tears
with you by my side
I know there’ll come a day when I look down at my feet
and see your footprints next to mine
until then.....goodbye my friend

I’ve seen so many days and cried so many tears
with you by my side
I know there’ll come a day when I look down at my feet
and see your footprints next to mine
until then.....goodbye my friend

until then....goodbye my friend

I Will Remind You

I Will Remind You

by Brian Asselin & Eric Disero

I see you staring out your window
Searching for your past
A lifetime full of memories
Slipping through your grasp

You see those pictures on the mantel
Tell the story of your life
A glimpse into your history
Of days long passed by

When the photos start to fade
When the memories slip away
Its a struggle everyday
I will remind you

When you look at me and say
You see a face without a name
Perfect strangers in the frames
I will remind you

You see that picture taken long ago
Of a boy whose three
Blowin’ out his candles
Sittin’ on your knee

Now that child is all grown up now
Yes that boy is me
I’m standing right beside you
Where I want to be

When the photos start to fade
When the memories slip away
Its a struggle everyday
I will remind you

When you look at me and say
You see a face without a name
Perfect strangers in the frames
I will remind you

I will always be there to hold your hand
Like you’ve always been for me
And together we can beat this in the end
‘Cause I can be your memory

Even when the darkest clouds pass by
You’ll always find theres hope
Eventually the sun breaks through
To form a rainbow

Everyday we’ll make new memories
And add them to this shelve
Always to remind you
You’re never by yourself

When the photos start to fade
When the memories slip away
Its a struggle everyday
I will remind you

When you look at me and say
You see a face without a name
Perfect strangers in the frames
I will remind you

When the photos start to fade
When the memories slip away
Its a struggle everyday
I will remind you

When you look at me and say
You see a face without a name
Perfect strangers in the frames
I will remind you

Let Me See Ya Dance

Let Me See Ya Dance

Move it, Twist it, Shake it
Do you anything you’d like
As long as you’ve got rhythm baby
I’ll take you home tonight

Pop it, lock it, jerk it
Or bring it back old school
Shake that tail feather nice and slow
Or do the boogaloo

(Chorus)
Hey hey hey
Let me see ya dance, let me see ya dance
Just dance
Let me see ya dance, let me see ya dance
Just dance

Jump it, break it, strut it
Up and down the alley
just move aside, i’ll show you
Who’s the big cat daddy

Bump it, grind it, drop it
Get up do the boogie
now Here’s new move baby
I’ll teach you how to dougie

Chorus

Flop it, Crank it, Krump it
Slide in with the moonwalk
just rev your motor baby next to me
stop and do the robot

Ride it, Style it, Hop it
just you don’t stop that groove
make that music go all night long
cause I like the way you move

Chorus X2

The Little Things

The Little Things

Walking down the street today thinking to myself
I can’t imagine me with someone else
Every time I hear your name I can’t help but smile
You’re the one thing in my life given this guy style
I kiss your lips, I hold you tight, I can’t live without
You standing by my side, its the little things that count
Its the way you do those things you do each and every day
When you ask me how I feel, I turn to you and say

(Pre-chorus)
Your love is like the ocean breeze
And every time I see you girl
You got me on my knees

(Chorus)
It ain’t because you buy me gold or treat me like a king
Its the little things i treasure that keeps us together
Everyday I see that look deep within your eyes
Its the little things I treasure that makes us forever

In the morning when you leave you softly kiss my cheek
And tip toe around the room when I’m fast asleep
You send me love notes all day long on your new iPhone
Or call me up to hear my voice when I’m not at home
You brag about me all day long to your friends at work
“You can have your Brad Pitt girls, I’ve got the best of men”
When I come home late at night from a hard days work
To find you in a sexy pose in nothing but my shirt

Pre-chorus
Chorus

Horn Soli

Chorus X2

Biography:

Brian Asselin, B.Mus, B. Ed

It seems like my musical career leads two separate lives. On one side I am a songwriter influenced by James Taylor, Bon Jovi, Bruno Mars, Michael Buble and so many others. I find a lot of inspiration for my songwriting while watching the world around me. For most of my songwriting career, I have been collaborating with a very good friend of mine and fellow musician, Eric Disero. Our youtube channel has reached over 830,000 views and is quickly growing everyday.

On the other side, I am a jazz saxophonist with over 15 years experience touring and/or recording with such artists as The Legendary Funk Brothers, Mary Wilson (The Supremes), The Temptations, Delbert & The Commotions, The JW-Jones Blues Band, The Jivewires, Impressions in Jazz Orchestra, The Holly Larocque and Mark Ferguson Big Band, Kelly Craig Sextet, Groovebug, and Organix.

Recently I have started another project with a fantastic singer, Delbert Nelson, from Detroit who I met while we were both touring with the Legendary Funk Brothers. Together we have written, along with two other writers, 10 tracks which we are very excited to announce will be available before 2013. The band is called Delbert & The Commotions.
