Candice Sand - Go On (feat JRDN)

Verse 1:
So tired of knocking on the door
Sick of staring at the floor
Tryin’ hard to lift your head up
Keep holding out for something more
So tired of always hearing no
And tryin hard to be strong
When everyday you’re getting’ beat up
But you gotta keep marching on

It’s so easy to
Give up and be through
But there’s a winner in you
So what you need to do is get up and go on

We can do anything
It’s never gonna be the same
When you’re trying to reach your dreams
When you get knocked down get up and go on
We can do anything
It’s never gonna be the same
When we’re trying to reach our dreams
When we get knocked down get up and go on

Verse 2:
Bills are comin ‘everyday
But you ain’t got enough to pay
Tryin so hard to save up
But you can never get ahead
When everything is goin’ wrong
Come and listen to this song
Cause we all need a helping hand
Sometimes to keep on holding on

Hear that cry deep inside
Can’t deny makes you try for the finish (Oh I’ll see you at the finish)
Things can change rearrange
All the pain falls away in one minute (In one minute)
Fix your eyes to the sky
On the prize of your life you can win it (Oh I know that you can win it)
Please know you can win it

Chorus (out):
(ad libs:
On and on and on
Don’t waste a minute
Fight the finish
You can win it
When we get knocked down get up and go on
When we get knocked down get up and go on
Don’t waste a minute
Fight the finish
You can win it
When we get knocked down get up and go on)

Now based out of Toronto, Candice has come a long way from her small hometown of Melville, Sask. After moving to Toronto, Candice teamed up with the Grammy/Juno nominated multiplatinum writing and production team Kuya Productions (Alessia Cara, Mase, Nelly, Little Mix, JRDN, Christina Aguilera) and set out to write and record her debut EP.

In July of 2014, Candice’s EP “Against Concrete Walls” was released and with it brought many career milestones for Candice including: the music video for her single “Go On” featuring JRDN gained support from MuchMusic/MuchFact/Bell Media, this same music video was also featured on and aired in regular rotation on MuchMusic’s sister station Juicebox TV and CTV Two. Additionally, she completed three tours with a total of 29 concert dates which took her from coast to coast across Canada, her videos received thousands of views on YouTube, and her singles “I Got This”, “Go On” feat JRDN, and “Bring Me to Life” were featured on major radio stations across Canada.

In 2017 Candice went back into the studio, this time teaming up with award winning Sony ATV producer Rob Wells (Arianna Grande, Selena Gomez, Nelly Furtado, Keshia Chante, Justin Bieber) and singer-songwriter Shobha (Sony ATV). They began working on a new batch of singles which would take Candice’s music in a more mature, electro-pop direction. Together the released her singles “Closed Doors” (Sept 2017) and “Just So You Know” (Sept 2018). “Closed Doors” was selected as the main theme for the documentary series “Something’s Gotta Give” and“Just So You Know” continues to appear on Pop playlists for Stingray Music in regular rotation. Her most recent single “I Get Up” was released in October 2019 and has garnered much attention online as a social commentary from Candice’s experience in being a woman in the music industry, in support and solidarity of the #MeToo movement.

Aside from her work in the studio, Candice is an avid performer throughout Canada and the US. To date she takes the stage for 100+ performances annually, performing at a variety of venues and events. She has also had the privilege of being a guest performer at many notable events including the Ferrari Challenge, Miss Universe Canada pageant, and the David Foster Miracle Gala, where she had the privilege of performing for Prime Minister Harper, the Mulroney family, and multi-Grammy award winning producer David Foster.

Additionally as a songwriter, Candice signed a co-publishing deal with Sound of Pop INC (SOP) in October 2017, which has kept her actively cowriting with songwriters throughout Canada. In May 2018, Candice attended an invite only professional songwriting camp (CreateTO) hosted by Canadian Music Publishers Association representing SOP. The camp combined many acclaimed Canadian songwriters with producers from Berlin over the course of three days in which Candice wrote and recorded 5 new songs. Later on in October of 2018, she was invited to the ProSongWorksTO professional songwriters camp hosted by the Songwriters Association of Canada with a variety notable songwriters from across Canada in attendance.

Currently, Candice is heading back into the studio to work on a new batch of singles!
