Grandma's Box Of Memories

Verse
On the shelf that cardboard box
Fills a special place
Grandma left it there for me
6 years ago today
When I hear the windchimes
Make music in the breeze
I wonder if she’s out there
Whispering to me

Chorus
Grandma’s box of memories
All covered up with dust
Pictures and old letters
Telling stories about us
I wish I’d opened it
While she was still alive
Just to hear her voice
One more time
Explaining to us
What’s inside

Verse
There she is with Uncle Tom
On her wedding day
Fishing for that rainbow trout
Before the preacher came
Back at Old Bill’s cabin
He’s feeding chipmunks on his knee
While brother Joe would play the harp
And Grandma sang off key

Chorus
Grandma’s box of memories
All covered up with dust
Pictures and old letters
Telling stories about us
I wish I’d opened it
While she was still alive
Just to hear her voice
One more time
Explaining to us
What’s inside

Bridge
She moved into a nursing home
To live her final days
Constant care and feeding
Replaced her carefree ways
She didn’t even know my name
When she reached the end
This box is full of treasure
Remembering a friend

Chorus
Grandma’s box of memories
All covered up with dust
Pictures and old letters
Telling stories about us
I wish I’d opened it
While she was still alive
Just to hear her voice
One more time
Explaining to us
What’s inside

Halfway to Crazy

I was living life

In a one horse town

One gas station

Nothing else around

You came along

Let my life begin

Woke up old feelings

I was scared to let in

Chorus

Now I’m halfway to crazy

All most all over you

Your driving me wild

With little things that you do

Got me checking you out

When you look away

C’mon read my mind

Baby waddya say

waddya say

I was never wrong

And I won’t give up

Two time charlie

Turning round my luck

I just can’t sleep

And let you lie awake

Take me to heaven

I give love for heart ache

Chorus

Now I’m halfway to crazy

All most all over you

Your driving me wild

With little things that you do

Got me checking you out

When you look away

C’mon read my mind

Baby waddya say

Bridge

You were always there

When I turn my head

Now I’m only

Tossing in our bed

I’ll get you back

In my life again

O I got an angel

Its a question a when

Chorus

Halfway to crazy

All most all over you

Your driving me wild

With little things that you do

Got me checking you out

When you look away

C’mon read my mind

Baby waddya say

Chorus

Yeah I’m halfway to crazy

All most all over you

Your driving me wild

With little things that you do

Got me checking you out

When you look away

C’mon read my mind

Baby waddya say

waddya say

C’mon read my mind

Baby waddya say

Hottie In Heels

She has snow white teeth
And ruby red lips
Fashion style
And she works for tips
She must know this
Every one is in awe
To get a woman like that
Be the luck of the draw

She has dark brown hair
And sexy blue eyes
Model looks
Yeah toned tanned thighs
She must work out
Every day at the gym
To get a body like that
Be so firm and so trim

Chorus
Boys there goes
Another hottie in heels
I’d talk to her
But I’d be spinning my wheels
An every man knows
Just how it feels
To wanna be loved
By a hottie in heels

Should I try my hand
And intro myself
Fumble round just for my health
She might give in
Every dog has his day
To get some lovin from her
Means she wants me that way

Chorus
Boys there goes
Another hottie in heels
I’d talk to her
But I’d be spinning my wheels
An every man knows
Just how it feels
To wanna be loved
By a hottie in heels

Boys there goes
Boys there goes
Boys there goes
Another hottie in heels

Boys there goes
Boys there goes
Boys there goes
Another hottie in heels

Boys there goes
Boys there goes
Boys there goes
Another hottie in heels

Boys there goes
Boys there goes
Boys there goes
Another hottie

Chorus
Boys there goes
Another hottie in heels
I’d talk to her
But I’d be spinning my wheels
An every man knows
Just how it feels
To wanna  wanna wanna wanna

Chorus
Boys there goes
Another hottie in heels
I’d talk to her
But I’d be spinning my wheels
An every man knows
Just how it feels
To wanna be loved
To wanna be loved
To wanna be loved
By a hottie in heels

Verse 1

You know I never knew that I

Could feel the way I do

I always thought that love

Was never all that cool

But you do something to me

That logic can’t explain

You got me thinking with my heart

Instead of with my brain

Chorus

Stay the night

By my side

You can come over to my place

Where my arms are open wide

Stay the night

By my side

You can come looking for my love

When you wanna feel so right

Verse 2

You know I need to know that I

Have made you feel the same

Do you turn into jell-o

When you hear me call your name

And with the touch of my hand

Does it make you feel brand new

Just when I got it figured out

They change the rules for you

Chorus

Stay the night

By my side

You can come over to my place

Where my arms are open wide

Stay the night

By my side

You can come looking for my love

When you wanna feel so right

Chorus

Whoa whoa

By my side

You can come over to my place

Where my arms are open wide

Stay the night

By my side

You can come looking for my love

When you wanna feel so right

You can come looking for my love

When you wanna feel so right

Biography:

I began writing lyrics while working a temporary job on the night shift at an open pit coal mine in Sparwood, BC in 1998. I've read and recommend Jason Blume's book "6 steps to songwriting success". Met multi-talented musician friend Daniel Wright on vacation in Mexico in 2008. Sent him some song lyrics and he put them to music and Voila -- a co-writing partnership was born. We released our first song "Stay The Night" to Canadian Country radio in October 2009. Country rocker "Hottie In Heels" received a Suggested Artist award in the 2010 Song Of The Year. com songwriting competition. Went to Nashville in January 2010 for 3 weeks to check out the scene and meet some people. I own and operate a seasonal fast food business which pays the bills as I pursue my songwriting dreams. www.dairybar.ca

Soon to be released single, Grandma's Box Of Memories, has received the Honorable Mention placement in the 2012 Song Of The Year.com songwriting contest.
