Heather Hill
Music is your own experience, your thoughts, your wisdom. If you don't live it, it won't come out of your horn. ~Charlie Parker

Biography:
Heather Hill is a Toronto-based singer-songwriter; her music has roots in piano rock, stems from a love of words, and flowers into a strong, silky blush! She is enthusiastic about introducing her second album in the Spring of 2012. This album, entitled "Leuty Station" captivates listeners with songs that speak to how women survive and even thrive in the face of hardship. Her sound features percussive piano reminiscent of Tori Amos and vocal colours of Jewel and Kate Bush. This album was recorded at Humber Recording Studios and it features a number of co-writes with talented artists: Meghan Morrison, Chris Assad, Orville Heyn, and Alec Steinwall.
"Leuty Station" is a departure from her first album, "Listen" (2005), which was a folk rock album produced by Steve Addabbo of Shelter Island Sound (Suzanne Vega, Shawn Colvin) and released in New York. Her guitar-driven debut effort was based on experiences in her life at the time – quitting her job, traveling the world and living in New York. When Heather returned home to Toronto, she continued to write songs and develop as an artist. For her second album, she chose highly regarded composer/musician/vocal instructor Orville Heyn (Humber College) to produce because he is adept at nurturing an artist’s creative vision.
