Songs by Rene Bourrier

I sit here playing a song for you
on my age of 52
I could of wrote songs long ago
at my age of 22

You know I'm o.k. with this
cause I write now in Bliss

I'm Grateful, truly Grateful
for all that I have
I look back with no regrets
and I'm o.k. with that

I went through tough times in my life
I even took a knife
I know what you may be thinking
But I saved another man's life

I'm Grateful, truly Grateful
Just to be alive
I look at the scar in my back
and that’s just a part of life.

Well my Pops, he drank alot
I don’t blame him for anything I’ve got
He taught me to do my best
And you can figure out the rest

I'm Grateful, truly Grateful
for all that I have
I look back with no regrets
and I'm o.k. with that

Little belly’s filled, sitting on my lap
Swinging little feet fourth and back
Their such a great, gift to me
Growing fast, Not easy to see

I throw a wink complete with a smile
They both come back with that twinkle in their eye
That says to me

I’m their Hero
I’m their Hero
I’m their Hero

And it makes me glad to know
Makes me glad to know

They both came back after, sledding all day
Looks like they got snow rubbed in their faces
From another room there mother asks
(Did you guys all have a blast?)
I said to her, I’m sure they did, knowing something had gone wrong

I throw a wink complete with a smile
They both come back with that twinkle in their eye
That says to me

I’m their Hero
I’m their Hero
I’m their Hero

And it makes me glad to know
Makes me glad to know

Well they all kick their boots off, at, the entrance
Nice to see them dancing
My family, it has grown
No more to ask, I thank the Lord

I’m their Hero
I’m their Hero
I’m their Hero

I'm in my warm home this night
It’s looking like, it’s pretty cold outside
Sipping on tea and watching T.V.
Ahhh, so, good

Go to bed, press the pillow with my head
Thinking about the day ahead
Have a good sleep, and real, sweet dreams
Ahhh, so, good

I'm caught in the moment, with a thought
Not a, very good one at that
Just enough, to wake me up
Ahhh, not so, good

What about the people in the streets
It’s a cold place to be
What about the people in the streets
Alone, without family
What about the people in the streets
It’s a cold place to be
What about the people in the streets
This could be you or me

Ever wonder about their story
I’m sure it’s worse than yours or mine
We walk by and ignore this
With a La dee da dee da dee
da dee da dee da dee
da dee da etc.

What about the people in the streets
It’s a cold place to be
What about the people in the streets
Alone, without family
What about the people in the streets
It’s a cold place to be
What about the people in the streets
This could be you or me

What about the people in the streets
What about the people in the streets
What about the people in the streets
What about the people in the streets

Biography:

Rene, pronounced Raynee by his closest friends, lived in Winnipeg most of his
life and a few years in Lorrette Mb. as a young boy. He started to compose the (Grateful) song a couple of years ago, putting down the first couple of lines and then let it go up until March 2010 when he finished it. Rene felt he should gift (Grateful) to his wife, and children, so he decided to record it in April of 2010.

Since then, he has written and recorded a few more songs, (I'm their Hero) and (People in the Streets). His songs (Grateful and I'm their Hero) ended up in Nashville for a re-recording, with hopes that they will be pitched to Publishers.

His latest song composed in December (People in the Streets) was recorded in Winnipeg which is not a demo yet. Rene would like to publish or pitch this song himself.

Rene says, It's important to let people know, that living in a state of gratitude is key to happiness. One should Know and remember, that when in a State of Gratitude one cannot possibly be unhappy. So always try to be Grateful.
