I Don’t Do Lazy Like That

I Don’t Do Lazy Like That

This club is cool, but from my bar stool
I’m far from a Cheshire cat
And though these drinks are chillin’
Their buzz I’m killin’
‘Cuz I don’t do lazy like that

Well the flat screen’s clear, and the story’s so near
The remote battles tit-for-tat
And though this couch is plush
It turns my body to mush
‘Cuz I don’t do lazy like that

You fall a little bit in my arms
I know I didn’t even try
To race you or chase you or use all my charms
I know I didn’t even try

A soft island beach
With the sun in reach
My shades and my Tilley hat
Lotion plied to my skin
With hands that don’t give in
But I don’t do lazy like that

Interlude
You fall a little bit in my arms
I know I didn’t even try
To race you or chase you or use all my charms
I know I didn’t even try
Bridge
‘Cuz I’m lazy, but I’m crazy for your smile
Lazy is love’s sweetest alibi

Cuz I don’t’ do lazy
Cuz I don’t’ do lazy
I don’t do lazy like that

Isn’t That the Reason Why You Came?

Isn’t That the Reason Why You Came?

Verse
The way you leave a room to let me know that you were there
Leaving your sweet scent of familiar in the air
Knowing that you’re close as I may ever be
A breath away from the air you breathe is a breath away from me

Verse
The way you glance right through the crowd with grand nonchalance
Searching for my face to force a planned happenstance
With your suited entourage dressed in stoic pleats
A glimpse in your eyes, you see deep into me

Chorus
Isn’t that the reason why you came? oh oh
Isn’t that the reason you know my name? oh oh
Isn’t it why life’s a hollow need? oh oh
Isn’t it why you follow me?
Oh, oh, oh
Verse
The way your voice can filter into my dreams
You talk to me sweetly each night, it seems
But I wake to the buzzing, a false alarm
A few words from you is to fall into my arms

Chorus
Isn’t that the reason why you came? oh oh
Isn’t that the reason you know my name? oh oh
Isn’t it why life’s a hollow need? oh oh
Isn’t it why you follow me?
Oh, oh, oh
(Repeat Chorus)

Spot of Tea

Spot of Tea?

Spot of tea? Spot at the table
Spot of tea? Please sip if you’re able
Rococo, rococo
But the bleached cucumber sandwiches are all gone
But the bleached cucumber sandwiches are all gone
They’re all gone

Spot of tea? Spot at the table
Spot of tea? Your scalding fable
The string quartet’s din hides all you sin
‘Cuz the dainties ain’t so dainty ‘sides the dainties are gone
‘Cuz the dainties ain’t so dainty ‘sides the dainties are all gone
They’re all gone
‘Cuz she’s a humble queen bee
Following drones, all on her own
Would you like some tea? Some tea?

Spot of tea? Spot on refreshment
Spot of tea? Invited enmeshment
There’s nobody here, so now you’re welcome, my dear
But the top plate lazy Susan sandwiches are gone
And the second-rate lazy Susan sandwiches are all gone
They’re all gone

(Solo)
And please don’t dunk the dainties:
She needs to set an example
Please don’t dunk the dainties:
She needs to set an example
They’re all gone

The Chronoscope Trips

The Chronoscope Trips

All these moments around you
One by one they have found you
Amongst the breath of the innocent
In the brilliance of the sun
All these moments surround you
Why must you choose only one?

And with each missing thought that searches for a believer
The chronoscope trips
Like a slipped sling shot, it resets to zero
Enter the hero, who blasts off to save
Who blasts off to save, an instant

Parallel worlds can confound you
More than nine lives astounds you
In the curving hands of an ivory clock
In the ticking of yet-to-be
Parallel lives can confound you
Why only one that could possibly be?

So, is this all it comes down to?
Scattered pixels of those around you
In the temporary ether of love’s warm embrace
Is this all it comes down to:
You and I in this time and place?

Wisdom is Waitin’ on Me

Wisdom is Waitin’ on Me

Verse
Sittin’ on a mountain
Waitin’ for my wisdom,
But uh, it don’t come
In Lotus position
My mind in submission
But uh wisdom, it don’t come

Chorus
It don’t come on a ten penny bet
Don’t you know
It don’t come on a whistle or a squeeze
And it don’t come in lightning or eurekas at night
Wisdom is waitin’ on me

Verse
Sittin’ in Siddhasana
Waitin’ for my wisdom
But uh, it don’t come
My hands gentle O’s
My mudra perfect pose
But a wisdom, it don’t come

Chorus
It don’t come on a ten penny bet
Don’t you know
It don’t come on a whistle or a squeeze
And it don’t come in lightning or eurekas at night
Wisdom is waitin’ on me

Verse
Sittin’ with spine aligned
Waitin’ for my wisdom,
But uh, it don’t come
Mindful of my breath
Inhaled and expressed
But uh wisdom, it don’t come.

Chorus
It don’t come on a ten penny bet
Don’t you know
It don’t come on a whistle or a squeeze
And it don’t come in lightning, eurekas at night
Wisdom is waitin’ on me
And it don’t come in lightning bolts, eurekas at night
Wisdom is waitin’ on me, wisdom is waitin’ on me
Wisdom is waitin’ on me, wisdom is waitin’ on me
