Words and Music Written by Stewart McKie
Verse 1
Blue eyes in the morning
Tears that fall like rain
I Keep wearing out my welcome
But here I am again
Begging for forgiveness
Promising to change
Sorry that I caused you so much pain

Verse 2
Living with regrets
Trying to hide the shame
Memories forget just who it was to blame
The years are growing shorter and time just moves too fast
And everything reminds me of the past

And there’s a storm that’s blowing outa here this morning
And there’s a million places I should probably
But I’m not leaving despite of all the warnings
Cause I still love you and you still love me

Dancin On Sunshine

Dancing on Sunshine © 2018 Stewart McKie
Verse 1
Dancing on Sunshine, Living on cheap wine
Feeding me all kinds of thrills
I wanted a lover who won’t blow my cover
But I never bargained for this

Verse 2
When you’re walking in my shoes, ya feel like ya can’t lose
No clouds in my sky only blue
I’ve been on a winning streak week after week
Since I’ve been living with you

You get me so high, I don’t wanna come down
I’m touching the sky, you must be leading me on
I never felt like this before, I’m feeling 10 feet tall
If it’s a dream then don’t wake me
Just let me enjoy a little more

Verse 3
With you I’m not lonely, girl you’re the only one
You’re always making me smile
And late in the evening after the chores are done
We’ll have some fun for awhile

Verse 4
I’m always running, going and coming
But your love is making me stay
I could break free, but I’d rather be
Holding you tightly each day

Bridge (breakdown)

Girl I learned a long time ago
You only get one chance to show
What you need and what you know
So hold on tight and don’t let go

Hardest Part

Hardest Part Copyright ©Stewart McKie Music 2020

I guess it wasn’t that hard for you to lay down my heart
Walk away while I fall apart
I’m left behind with pieces to find
I don’t know if I can find them in time

People say you’ve got to move on
I’m not ready yet
To make a new start
Cause that’s the hardest part

I guess I needed you more, than you could endure
Hard to watch, you walk out that door
Say I’m doing fine, when my friends all drop by
I can see they don’t believe me

They just say, its time to move on
I’m not ready yet
To make a new start
Cause that’s the hardest part

I’ve been down too long, Had my share of pain
Hour after hour stand out in the rain
Till everyone thinks that I’m insane

People say you’ve got to move on
I’m not ready yet
To make a new start
Cause that’s the hardest part

Homebody Copyright © 2019 Grant Heywood and Stewart McKie

I’m a homebody, not a rolling stone, I’ve got all I need everything I own
My old ford truck still gets me round, eight track tape has got the same old sound
Work the same damn job for 45 years, just a good ol boy drinking Lonestar beer
I’m a homebody not a rolling stone, I’ve got all I need everything I own
Well I’ve been a few places but not too far, picking Hank and Haggard on my old guitar
Woman come woman go but I won’t change that’s all I know
I’m a homebody not a rolling stone, I got a cb radio and an old flip phone
Some people say that I’m not cool
But there ain’t no shame in being old school
I’m a homebody not a rolling stone, I got all I need everything I own
I’m a homebody not a rolling stone, you can have Mick Jagger give me old George Jones

Prisoners of the Heart

Prisoners of the Heart Copyright © Stewart McKie Music 2019
Words and Music Stewart McKie Feb 2019
I’ve been wooing you a long, long time
And there’s no limits to my madness
Been fooling me for way too long
Time to release myself from sadness
Cause both of us are changing
Time to make a new start
Don’t let Love and fear make us prisoners of the heart

I keep leaving you, but I can’t go
Guess I’ll just suffer through your madness
You keep blaming me but we both know
I’m not the reason for your sadness
Yes both of us are changing
But we could make a new start
So don’t let love and fear make us prisoners of the heart

We’ve been together for a long, long time
With all the craziness around us
Got through the darkness and we found our way
To give up now would be a shame
Cause both of us are changing
Time to get back to the start
Don’t let Love and fear make us prisoners of the heart

As a lifelong student of music and a devoted fan; I have had the pleasure of playing in several local bands, managing a jam night and live music venues, working as a roadie and light man, being a DJ, booking bands, attending some legendary concerts and writing and recording with some truly great musicians and wonderful people! I am constantly growing, developing and exploring new styles and sounds. Although I truly enjoy all styles of good music including a catchy pop hook, my heart is in classic rock, country and blues.
I recently had the pleasure of participating in a Master Class with songwriter Andrew Allen, an amazing and positive interactive learning experience!
