Songs by Vincent Gauthier

In My Shoes

When you’re out in the cold
When you spend time alone
You’d feel the pain if you were in my shoes
Down the road to your home
A place I’ve walked on my own
Longing to smile or say something to you

Chorus

Passing my time in a sinful state of mind
Walking that fine line toward re-entry
Looking for truth, finding you
Now I know that I can really lose

All alone in my bed
Visions race through my head
Wondering if you’d be thinking about me
Toss and turn in the night
Want to make everything right
Thinking of ways to get you to love me

Chorus – Guitar Improv

When you’re out in the cold
When you spend time alone
You’d feel the pain if you were in my shoes
Try to call you by phone
Seems you’re never at home
Longing to smile or say something to you

Chorus

Met a Friend

Met a friend walking down this dusty road
Well he smiled when he looked at me
And as he passed he pulled a story from his soul
Asked if I could help him see…..oooo

Began to tell me about a friend he’d like to know
How close they’d always be
How the tides of time would take them out to sea
Cast adrift they would be free...ooooo

But those days are gone I’m older now
This dusty road has turned me ‘round
Walk a mile my fro9iend just you and me
Together we will set time free

So my friend as we walk this dusty road
Hold a light that shines for me
Faith and hope will guide us through the ragged turns
Love will conquer all we meet….oooo

But those days are gone I’m older now
This dusty road has turned me ‘round
Walk a mile my friend just you and me
Together we will set time free

Miles Away

Say good-bye through the window
I’ll be leaving at the dawn
All our troubles will be over
Lock the door when I’m gone

Miles away, that’s where my heart will stay
Healing slowly, while the sky rains down on me

I know it hurts to see me
packing boxes on the floor
All the pictures are faded
Colours ain’t bright anymore

Miles away, that’s where my heart will stay
Healing slowly, while the sky rains down on me
Rains down on me

Guitar

Miles away, that’s where my heart will stay
Healing slowly, while the sky rains down on me

Time walks by slowly
But the greys keep coming on
I will always remember
Troubled times come and gone

Chorus x 2
