Steph Copeland (Canadian)

Steph Copeland is a Canadian screen composer and electro-pop artist based in the GTA. Her foray into composition began writing genre and sci-fi feature film scores (Antisocial 1 & 2, The Heretics, Bite, Bed of The Dead, Let Her Out). She has since composed dramas, action/suspense, commercials and trailers (Salvage, Creep Nation, Anne of Green Gables, BOSE, Pan Am Games, Mina Halal, Canada's National Ballet School) as well as web and TV series (Krystal Clear, Echappe-Toi Si Tu Peux).

In 2015, she released a full length electro/pop album entitled ‘Public Panic’ which won her a contract at a NY based publisher, through which she co-writes with international pop artists (Ria Mae, Maesic, Freek van Workum, Tiger and Bloom, Ruben Young, Gabriella Geneva, Zale Epstein, Russel Louder) Copeland is a member of the Screen Composers Guild of Canada and often performs live in the GTA.

Born and raised in Wallaceburg Ontario, Copeland emerged as a singer/songwriter and electronic artist in Detroit and Los Angeles in the early 2000's. She toured the California coastline with fellow artist's hailing from Detroit where she spent time growing as an electronic producer. Copeland frequently performed at Detroit's electronic Movement festival.

Copeland is a classically trained vocalist and with roots at The Royal Conservatory of Music. She enjoys blending analogue and electronic music, and often incorporates sound design and vocals into her film score works.

“Steph Copeland's Public Panic is atmosheric and dangerous. A sensuous combination of smokey guitars, psychedelic beats and whirlwind of vocals that will make your head spin. Copeland has created a growling and beautiful storm of an album.” - Dan MacDonald, On-air Personality (939 The River, CIDR-FM / Hear+Now - CKLW, Windsor-Detroit)

"It’s Steph's voice that captured and sold me; truly emotive, stylistically unique. Her endearing self penned songs are icing on the cake."
- Bobby Gale, On-air Personality (SundayGlide/

“ A rare talent, Copeland has such glistening musical abilities. I predict a killer solo career for (Copeland)” - Leah Kaselhorst (Music Supervision Co.)

“A highly promising debut” - Kerry Doole (New Canadian Music)

“Public Panic is a flawless, deep and moody recording from a phenomenal
song writer. It is easily one of the most vibe-filled and top albums of 2015”
-Joao Carvalho (Owner - Revolution Records, JCM Mastering)

"She is very in touch with what she is doing. Very impressed with vibe and
scope of her sound" - Daniel Victor (Never Ending White Lights – Maple Music)
