CCMA Names New Executive Director

The Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Don Green as the new Executive Director of the Association, effective August 23, 2010.

Don Green is currently the Vice President of Operations of Puretracks (division of Somerset Entertainment), a leading North American digital music provider. Since joining the Puretracks executive team in 2006 as General Manager, he has successfully led and evolved operational functions ranging from finance and human resources to client and project management.

Prior to Puretracks, Don gained extensive business and leadership experience at Bell Canada in a diverse range of senior management roles, including marketing, sales, public relations, and strategic planning. His most recent position was Director of Business Planning within the consumer internet “Sympatico” portfolio.

Don holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from McMaster University. 

“I am very excited to be joining the incredible team at CCMA and look forward to working with all key stakeholders to deliver the mandate of the Association. It is an honour to be able to work within a genre that I have listened to and loved since my childhood,” said Mr. Green.

"It’s so exciting to share this news with everyone,” said Chair of the CCMA Board of Directors, Jackie Rae Greening. “We really took our time to find the ideal candidate for this role and we’ve certainly found that in Don Green. Don has a lot to offer the CCMA with his years of experience in the corporate world in a variety of different roles; we look forward to having him as leader of our growing Association.”

Don Green starts at the CCMA on Monday, August 23 and will be onsite Country Music Week Edmonton, September 8-12. Current interim Executive Director, Sheila Hamilton will remain on staff through the Fall to ensure a flawless transition.
